Forcing Yourself to Exercise? Yes!
While your intentions may be good, your motivations may be seriously lacking. This is why so many people who want to work out regularly fail quite early on.
If you are determined to get into shape despite feeling quite lazy, there is some good news for you. You can, to an extent, force yourself to exercise.
It is all about tricking your mind and body into being more active. Here are some ideas that you can try out for yourself.
4 Ways to Force Yourself to Exercise
#1. Get Yourself a Vehicle
The first step to working out more is to get yourself a car if you don’t already have one. There are actually a couple of reasons for this.
At the top of the list, it protects you from the cold. Why is this important? Well, it has been proven that when you are cold, you are less likely to want to exercise. Doing so, just reminds you that it is possible to get colder. However, if you are traveling to your gym in a nice toasty vehicle, you don’t have to deal with the elements, particularly in winter.
So, having a vehicle can actually give you the motivation to work out. If you don’t want to spend too much money on a brand new vehicle buy used cars, there are plenty of options available to you.
#2. Pay for a Class
If the gym isn’t really for you, try taking an interesting fitness class. This could be CrossFit or even an MMA course.
When you sign up for a class, you are doing two things. One, you are promising someone else that you will show up. Two, you are using your hard earned money.
Hopefully, both of these factors will convince you to get out of your house, get in that BMW 7 that you just bought and get to the class.
If possible, choose an instructor that really intimidates and that is a real stickler for attendance. This way, you will be too scared not to attend the class!
#3. Put Your Workout Clothes On
Yes, this may seem like a ridiculous solution, but it has been proven to work.
If you are trying to talk yourself of going for a jog or heading to the gym, just go ahead and put on your workout clothes. Then, if you want, you can go watch some TV or just lie around.
Soon, however, you aren’t going to want to do this anymore. You will feel compelled to go get some exercise just because you are all dressed for it.
#4. Get a Buddy to Help You
Your exercise plan is going to go much better if you have someone else besides you. Both of you will act as motivation for one another.
So, when one person is feeling lazy, you have someone else to provide some much-needed energy. You can even start a group if you want to get others involved as well.
Having other people around will also make the workout more fun as well.
The Bottom Line
These are some of the ways that you can actually force yourself to exercise. After a while, you won’t need to trick yourself anymore.
