Introduction

CBD is the newest craze to hit the health and wellness world. CBD is a byproduct of cannabis that is reported to help with stress, anxiety, sleep, and pain.

One of the many offshoots of the CBD trend is the CBD edibles, with gummies being the most popular. Gummies are small, colourful, edible candy infused with CBD oil.

Want to know if CBD Gummy Bears are worth it? Do they improve people’s quality of life? Or are they merely another con from the holistic, natural health world?

In this article, we will be looking specifically at CBD Gummies.

But First, What Exactly is CBD?

In a nutshell, CBD or Cannabidiol is a chemical compound found in the Cannabis sativa plant, also known as cannabis or hemp. CBD offers many health benefits from physical to mental.

But before we jump into discussing CBD gummies, let’s take a closer look at CBD. There is a lot of confusion about CBD, in particular its relationship to marijuana.

Tautvydas Sutkus has some helpful advice here. Sutkus is an attorney and counselor-at-law in the State of New York and a solicitor in England and Wales.

Sutkus is currently advising brands in the health and wellbeing industry. Sutkus acknowledges that CBD has a lot of negative biases attached to it. Sutkus assures both brands and consumers that CBD is completely safe and perfectly legal.

This is because CBD is a completely different chemical compound than THC  (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is the active ingredient in marijuana that produces a high when inhaled.

CBD has no psychotropic qualities, unlike THC. THC affects how the brain works, which subsequently causes changes in mood, behavior, thoughts, and feelings. CBD is unable to alter a person’s psychological function.

All in all, this means that CBD users will never experience a high, overdose, or addiction. This among its myriad benefits have caused CBD to enter the wellness world like a wildfire and it is still gaining traction daily.

Where Does CBD Come From?

Now we’ve got the heavy stuff out the way, we can look at where CBD comes from. CBD is found inside the flower of the cannabis plant. It is the second most prevalent ingredient or chemical compound inside cannabis after THC.

CBD is typically extracted from cannabis and infused into oils, lotions, creams, or edibles like CBD gummies. However, you can also smoke cannabis flower that contains CBD to reap some of the benefits.

That said, edibles are by far the most popular choice among users. Gummies would definitely be the fan favorite due to their convenience, taste, and price.

You can find CBD and CBD gummies at most health retailers and wellness brands. In the United States and United Kingdom, CBD is regulated by the government. For businesses to sell edible CBD they must “apply for authorization of their CBD extracts, isolates, and associated products”. This may sound scary, but it’s really not.

The Food Standards Agency considers CBD to be a “novel” ingredient because there is “no evidence to show a history of consumption before May 1997.” The government is just being cautious of CBD because it is new!

I think it’s great that CBD regulation, safety, and transparency are a top priority. It definitely gave me peace of mind when I first purchased CBD.

Why Do People Use CBD?

CBD can be used to help improve our health and wellbeing in many ways. People use CBD for pain, inflammation, and soreness. Some use it to help with mental disorders like anxiety and depression. And others use CBD for sleep and relaxation.

It makes you wonder how it can do all of this… Funnily enough, I have the answers for you. CBD is what you call a cannabinoid. These cannabinoids can bind to what’s called endocannabinoids found all throughout our body.

Each and everyone of us actually have what’s called an endocannabinoid system residing within our body. Endocannabinoids are essentially neurotransmitters that control things like sleep, pain, appetite, and mood. They are found in our organs, skin tissue, muscles, and even the brain.

So, after eating a CBD gummy, endocannabinoids in CBD and our body begin to bind to one another. As a result, they will interfere in the nociceptor process that sends pain signals to the brain which results in pain relief.

Endocannabinoids can also target serotonin neurotransmission which stabilises our mood and regulates our emotions.

Pretty cool, right?

Why Do People Prefer Consuming CBD in Gummie Form?

CBD Gummy Bears come in all sorts of flavours, sizes, strengths, and colors. CBD Gummies are infused with CBD oil. People prefer gummies for a number of reasons including convenience and taste.

A CBD Gummy will last for 4-6 hours after it has been eaten and digested. This means you will feel the effects of a CBD Gummy for up to 6 hours. It’s a long time to enjoy pain relief, relax, or sleep.

A CBD Gummy can even treat all these problems at the same time! CBD Gummies have a shelf life of a year, however, it is recommended to consume them within 9 months of opening.

Over time cannabinoids can degrade and lose potency. Remember, they are made of natural ingredients that don’t last forever!

To get started, simply choose your desired flavour and strength. You can begin to take CBD gummies straight away! You can individualize the dose of CBD depending on your weight, height, the condition you wish to treat, and how you wish to feel.

Most people find that a CBD dosage of 1-2 gummies is the perfect amount for casual everyday use. Of course, feel free to take more CBD gummies if you suffer from an extreme or serious problem.

My Own Personal Experience with CBD Gummies

I wanted to test CBD gummies to see what they were like. I have suffered from poor sleep my entire life. I regularly wake up in the middle of the night unable to get back to sleep.

Last week I decided to eat a single CBD Gummy before bed. I’d had a stressful day and I couldn’t seem to unwind. Surprisingly, 30 minutes after I had eaten the Gummy I felt more relaxed and a bit sleepy.

Anxious thoughts also completely disappeared and I was able to enjoy my evening. This rarely happens, as I’m often thinking and planning for the next day’s activities or stressing about work.

A couple of hours after I had eaten the gummy I took myself to bed. I can’t tell you what happens next, as without hesitation I fell straight asleep. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t tossing and turning waiting for sleep to arrive. This night, I was out and didn’t wake up until my alarm rang.

The CBD gummy helped me achieve a deep, restful, undisturbed sleep. I’m extremely grateful, a tad bewildered, and will definitely be coming back for more.

So, Are CBD Sweets Worth It?

Well… yes. CBD has been proven to manage pain, help you sleep better, and reduce symptoms of anxiety. It sounds too good to be true. But it’s not.

To be honest, I was incredibly skeptical when I first started looking at CBD. I have absolutely been proven wrong. The science is impenetrable and indisputable.

CBD has improved the quality of life for so many people, including myself. CBD gummies are so easy to use, effective, and fast-acting.

An added bonus is that they taste delicious too. Give them a go! I promise they are worth it.
